Who says spooky season is limited to October? This monstrous event is frightfully fun for everyone! From May 17th-19th, you can lift your spirits at the Wyndham Orlando Resort. Since 2003, Spooky Empire has brought screamingly good meet and greets, panels, and vendors to satiate the creepy crowd! But that’s not all, there’s also music, film, and even a tattoo festival for fanatics who fancy a permanent mark of their fandom.

For those who wouldn’t be seen dead without an eerie ensemble, dress to impress and you could even win their costume contest! Hey, if you’ve got it…haunt it!

Cinco de Mayo at SeaWorld

Hurry! You only have until May 7th to take part in this fantastic fiesta, where you’ll experience epic entertainment as SeaWorld bursts into color and life! This is a great time to explore the park while being surrounded by spirited stilt-walkers and peppy performers, including the unmistakable music and magic of a mariachi band!

There is also an opportunity to sample some scrumptious limited-time offerings, including authentic mouth-watering Mexican dishes. So raise a toast to the rich history of Mexican culture in this vibrant event included with your regular park admission!

Sherlock Holmes Day

Have you uncovered an awesome way to spend Sherlock Holmes Day on May 22nd? I’ll give you a clue. Sherlock Studies at The Escape Effect combines the best parts of an escape room adventure with a murder mystery! This 75-minute experience is packed with puzzles and provides intrigue around every corner.

Sherlock may not be Wats-on your mind this month, but all evidence points to a good time when you transport yourself back to 1890s London to gather evidence, put the clues together, and solve a crime, all before the time runs out!

The Orlando International Fringe Theatre Festival

Celebrate the longest running Fringe in the United States! The 33rd Annual Fringe Theatre Festival takes place from May 14th-27th with 100% of ticket sales given back to the performers, enabling them to continue creating their art! This fabulous event allows artists to showcase their talents and crafts in an inclusive, uncensored, and accessible way.

You can also get involved with Fringe&, a year-round program which provides opportunities for the whole community to learn and play through workshops, mentorship, panels, and networking!

Space Coast Burger Battle

If you are looking for a family-friendly event that combines awesome eats with lively beats, get down to Wickham Park on May 18th and 19th. Space Coast Burger Battle is Brevard County’s only burger fest, where you’ll even have a chance to vote for your favorite burger! This incredible 2-day event created by Battle Bros also features a diverse array of dessert vendors with items priced at just $5 and under, so you can try a multitude of tasty treats!

For the adults, you’ll also find axe throwing and alcohol (although best not to partake in both at the same time), and kids are sure to enjoy the gem mining and face painting on offer throughout the event. There is even a craft fair packed with local artisans, all stocked with a spectacular selection of goods. GayDays Orlando

What started as a single designated day has now expanded into a week long legendary LGBTQ+ event in Orlando! Starting on May 30th, GayDays welcomes everyone to celebrate with their Red Shirt Days. If you are visiting the theme parks, including the Disney Parks and SeaWorld, you are encouraged to “Wear Red and Be Seen” in order to show support for the LGBTQ+ community.

Alongside these park visits, this week of celebration includes cocktail soirees, concerts, and other entertaining experiences that attract over 180,000+ people from all over the world! The event is committed to diversity and inclusion, so anyone looking to engage in the festivities will find that a friendly and fun atmosphere awaits!
