Introduction

If you’re thinking of visiting an escape room soon, be sure to consider all the options Orlando has to offer.  In this article, we’ll discuss the differences between The Escape Effect and Bureau Escape Rooms so that you can make a better-informed decision when reserving your next experience.

What makes Escape Effect different from Bureau Escape Rooms? Nobody Sits On The Sidelines.

Escape rooms can be described as “linear” or “non-linear”.  A linear game means that players must solve puzzle A before solving puzzle B.  A non-linear game means that puzzles A and B can be solved simultaneously.

As far as we can tell, all of Bureau Escape Rooms’ games are linear.  At The Escape Effect, we have a mix and typically recommend non-linear games to larger groups because it means that everyone has something to do at the same time. Both At Odds With The Gods and Fright Before Your Eyes are great examples of non-linear escape rooms.

What makes Escape Effect different? Better Value.

Bureau Escape Rooms charges between $39.99 and $41.99 for a 60-minute experience based on the game.

The Escape Effect charges between $44.95 and $69.95 based on peak times and the duration of the escape room, which ranges from 75 minutes to 2 hours. If you bring the kids, you’ll enjoy special child rates too.

If you do the math, you’ll understand that you can pay less per hour at The Escape Effect. We also have a ton of everyday offers to help you get the best value!

What makes Escape Effect different from Bureau Escape Rooms? Tailored To You.

At Bureau Escape Rooms, there are no obvious difficulty ratings available.

At The Escape Effect, we do use difficulty ratings and we also have the ability to adjust the game’s challenge level based on your team’s experience. If you prefer that, please let your host know in advance.

Oh, and if you have kids, let your host know that too so we can make the appropriate adjustments! We’ve done things in the past like keeping the door open or turning up the lighting to make whomever requests it more comfortable.

What makes Escape Effect different from Escapology? Unique Gameplay.

Bureau Escape Rooms has positioned themselves as “Adventure Rooms”. Their website makes it clear that they don’t like locks or keys and they are even against traditional puzzles.

Each of The Escape Effect’s rooms are very different from each other. Some overlap with Bureau Escape Rooms’ offerings and others do just the opposite. If you enjoy traditional puzzles, At Odds With The Gods or Sherlock Studies are great choices. If you like keys and padlocks, A Knight To Escape is fantastic. And if you are a person who appreciates technology that you can hold in your own hands, Fright Before Your Eyes fits the bill.

What makes Escape Effect different from Bureau Escape Rooms? Longer Games.

If you went to a movie and it was over in 60 minutes, would you be satisfied?

Bureau Escape Rooms are always the ubiquitous 60-minute maximum.

The Escape Effect is the first to introduce escape rooms longer than 60 minutes.  In fact, A Knight To Escape runs a full two hours—it’s one of only two 2-hour escape rooms in the entire country! Additionally, our classic At Odds With The Gods and the anything-but-classic Fright Before Your Eyes run 90 minutes each!

Have you been convinced?

Of course, we hope you’ll select The Escape Effect for your next escape room.  But even if you choose to play at Bureau Escape Rooms this time, we sincerely hope you enjoy yourselves.  Escape rooms can be so much fun and after you’re done playing there, we hope you’ll be curious what’s behind door #2…
