Set foot into A Knight To Escape and you’ll be instantly whisked back to a time long long ago, in medieval England. The soundtrack, the set, and the overall atmosphere builds the anticipation, as you prepare to do battle by taking on those perplexing puzzles, much like a courageous knight. There are so many things that make this game special, but the 2-hour run time really sets it apart from your average escape room. Ever play a game and feel sad that it’s over so soon? You’ll get twice the fun, and twice the puzzles in A Knight To Escape!
This game is a split-start escape room, meaning that for a large duration of the game you will be apart from half of your team. However, that does not mean you will be working completely independently from each other, in fact, your overall success in the game depends on just how well you work together. There are thin arrowslit windows between the two spaces, providing a small but vital passageway into what is happening on the other side of the wall. You’ll need to be great communicators to rescue your fellow teammates trapped within the deep, dark dungeon. Once united, you must storm the castle together to ultimately conquer this challenge, and of course, escape.
Embark on your very own epic quest
Castle Courtyard
Before the game begins, you’ll need to decide between yourselves who will be playing on each side. When you’re ready, one half of your team will be placed in the castle courtyard to act as the brave knights of the story. These players will find themselves surrounded by imposing stone architecture, adorned with large medieval banners and tattered wanted posters. There’s plenty of space to move around, with the moonlight providing ample atmospheric lighting for two whole hours of epic puzzle-solving fun.
But that’s not all intrepid explorers will uncover on this side of the game, because even more secrets lie beyond the arched wooden doorways found within the courtyard. Castles, after all, have many rooms of course, and more will be revealed as you unlock each section of the game.
The Deep Dark Dungeon
Which of your team will be the not-so-lucky players that get cast into the dimly-lit dungeon? The players on this side will only have flickering lanterns to light their way through the darkness, but be sure to look closely, since the shadows conceal vital clues that will help aid the other side in this rescue mission. As the dungeon dwellers progress through the game, they’ll find it only gets eerier the deeper you get. In the gloomy surroundings they’ll be a few surprises lurking…traverse down the tunnel and you’ll find you’re not completely alone in there either!
Just when you think you might be trapped forever, the courageous knights on the other side will be waiting to unlock the door to freedom, so you can reunite to solve the final stage of the game. All the pieces, literally and figuratively, will come together in a final frenzied dash filled with symbols, ciphers, and the ominously watching gargoyles, who will ultimately decide if you get to leave the castle unscathed.
