Escape rooms have exploded in popularity over the last few years. With clever puzzles and inventive themes, they’re a fun way to bring people together. Teams have to work together and think outside of the box to solve the puzzles and escape. It’s no wonder that escape rooms have become popular team building activities. They’re excellent venues for groups looking for new ways to bring teams together.
The Escape Effect has a diverse selection of rooms, each with its own theme to provide a unique experience. Our games encourage teamwork and communication while giving everyone a chance to shine.
Communicating with teammates is key in A Knight To Escape
While communication is a must in all escape rooms, it’s especially important in A Knight to Escape. Teams are split into two groups: one in a dimly-lit dungeon and one in a brighter courtyard. They remain separated throughout most of the game, but neither side can solve their puzzles without the other. Both groups will need to work together and keep the other group informed. Sharing what they find and checking in with the other side will go a long way towards escaping this room. It’s a fun way to encourage people to speak up and engage with their teammates.
Team organization is important when you’re At Odds With The Gods
At Odds with the Gods is a non-linear room with wider spaces and puzzles scattered throughout. It’s a “divide and conquer” situation, and the most successful teams are the most organized. A team may assign people to puzzles that best suit their skills or narrow the focus to work together on one problem at a time. Whatever they choose, they’ll have the best chance of winning if they have a plan. Working on multiple puzzles at a time can be a challenge, but it’s an opportunity for people to take the initiative in leading teams and solving problems
Discussion with team is important in Sherlock Studies
Sherlock Studies has puzzles based in observation and reading. Teams will need to solve the puzzles, find the evidence, and solve the mystery. Success here lies in teamwork, discussion, and critical thinking. Evaluating evidence will be most successful if teammates can communicate and discuss their reasoning. Players can explain their reasoning and others can offer input in order to find the right answer. In this situation, everyone can have an opportunity to show how they think. It’s a chance to get a better understanding of one another.
Cooperation is critical in Fright Before Your Eyes
Unique even amongst other escape rooms, Fright Before Your Eyes is a room where teamwork is of utmost importance. At least two people are required to efficiently use one of the tools to find clues. The team will be scouring a backstage area looking for the clues to the puzzles. Like At Odds with the Gods, this is a non-linear room with clues hidden everywhere. It’s a situation where they’ll have to work closely together. It’s also a chance for players to get to know the teammates–including finding out who’s afraid of the dark.
